JA Careers with a purpose is a 6weeks program, which was concurrently organized in 12 different countries all over the world and having Nigeria as the first African country to run the program. The program is meant to expose young secondary school students to the different careers available, the different between a JOB and a CAREER. Also the students were taking through various brainstorming and group sessions on how to choose their career path. Students were involved in exciting exercises which thus helps participants participate effectively.

The program highlighted the following:

  • What a noble purpose is
  • Choices
  • Values
  • Defining a job and a career
  • Decision Making
  • Pathways/mind mapping
  • Maxims
  • Code of conduct

JA Nigeria Students in public schools made JA Africa Region proud by clinching the second and third positions in the JA Worldwide Essay competition tagged 'Laws of my Life' on two occasion (2007 & 2008). The competition involved over 1000 students from all over the world.
