7th Annual Arts and Craft Competition

Junior Achievement Nigeria marked its seventh annual Arts and Craft Competition. It was held on the 27th of May 2009, the day marked world wide as Children’s day at Terra Kulture, a Nigerian cultural centre which promotes Nigerian Cultural heritage. This year’s event was sponsored from Grant of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation (TCCAF) and LISABI Mills partnered in the event by providing products for the guests and students. The students had a lot of fun through various activities which include, dancing competition, facial paintings as well as a tour around the gallery.

The theme of this year’s competition was “LAGOS OUR MEGA CITY”. The program was aimed at encouraging the expression of innovative and creative ideas in students.

Some schools in which the Elementary School Program was previously carried out were present to participate in the competition and this include;

2. Mbari Mbayo School , Yaba

3. Cresent School , V.I

4. Queensland Academy , Okota

5. Kemson School International, Ikoyi

6. Pampers School, Surulere

7. Laraday, Ikeja

8. Maryland Covenant School , Maryland Ikeja

9. Grange School , Ikeja G.R.A

10. Corona School , V.I

The total number of participating and non participating students was 43.The event was held between the hours of 10.00am and 2.30pm. The student’s art works was graded by professional Judges and prizes were awarded to the winners.
