Venture in Enterprise Management Program (viemp) 2011.
Venture in Enterprise and Management Program (ViEMP) is a yearly program organized by Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) designed as a one-week intensive session. ViEMP is designed to prepare Youth Corp members for the world of business as managers and entrepreneurs.
The week-long program which includes rigorous and stimulating classroom meetings (led by facilitators from the Pan-African University), case studies, panel discussions, study groups, guest speakers and recreation, culminating in a strategy workshop, during which the participants will present solutions to different business problems.The learning environment will mirror that of the top business schools around the world with case studies focusing on Business Ethics, Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Social Enterprise, General Management, Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
The ViEMP 2011 program was held in partnership with Chevron Nigeria Limited, Accenture Nigeria and Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the PAN-African University (PAU) at Ahmed Onibudo Street, Victoria Island Campus from the 14th – 19th February 2011. With the generous support of sponsors like the Chevron Nigeria Limited and Accenture Nigeria, the entire program was free to participants again this year!
In response to the call of being socially responsible individuals, the 104 participants at this year’s program were at the Dustin Estate in Apapa for 2 days (16th & 17th Feb) carrying out health checks such as BP, BMI etc and giving health talks as well as gifts of household items to the residents of this disadvantaged area in Lagos state from funds raised from their personal contributions towards the CSR project.
The graduation ceremony took place at Coral Hall, 21B Idowu Martins Street, Victoria Island Lagos on Saturday, February 19th, 2011. Dignitaries at the ceremony are; Mrs. Tinu Adesola and Mrs. Ronke Awe of Chevron Nigeria Ltd, Mr. Niyi Yusuf, Country Managing Director, Accenture and Mr. Segun Olalandu of Accenture. Also in attendance was the guest speaker, Mr. Isaac Durojaiye (Otunba Gadafi), Chief Executive of DMT Mobile Toilets and Mrs. Nneka Okekearu of Enterprise Development Centre of PAN-Africa University.
